Planet Wise Clutch Review
If you’re in the cloth diapering community and you haven’t heard of Planet Wise products yet, you need to listen up! Back when I first decided to venture into the world of cloth diapering, a Planet Wise hanging wet/dry bag was one of my very first purchases. Why? Because even without joining any cloth diapering groups on Facebook, my sources for cloth diaper advice were RAVING about Planet Wise. Over the years, I’ve acquired a mini collection of Planet Wise wet bags of various sizes, but I had yet to give their clutch a try until now! As with my other Planet Wise wet bags, it’s love at first use. The beauty of the Planet Wise Clutch is that it’s not just for cloth diapering families. There are oh so many ways to fill this clutch that it’s really a must have item for everyone (yes, even if you don’t have kids)! Read on to see all the amazing features of this clutch!
The Details:
The Planet Wise Clutch is a zippered wet/dry bag that measures 11″ wide and 7.5″ tall. It has two zippered sections, one for wet items and one for dry items. The wet section of the clutch is lined with PUL that is anti-microbial and inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi. The seams of the PUL are hidden and sealed so there’s absolutely no leaking through them. Even the zippers are water resistant locking zippers that are PVC-free and lead-free. The dry section of the clutch is smaller than the wet section and it is not lined with PUL. Instead, it’s lined with the same outer material of the clutch (which can be a cotton, twill, or a coated canvas material depending on the print you choose). The Planet Wise Clutch has a snap handle attached, so you can easily hang the clutch from the handle of the stroller, the strap of the baby carrier, the handle of your diaper bag, or anywhere else you might need to hang it when you’re at home or on the go! The clutch is a compact size so it can easily fit in the diaper bag making it a great option for a grab & go diaper change kit. As with all Planet Wise wet bags, the Planet Wise Clutch is made in the USA.
How It Works:
As you can imagine, I use my Planet Wise Clutch for so much more than just cloth diapers. Of course it is still the perfect little bag for carrying around everything you need for a diaper change! The clutch easily fits one cloth diaper, two wipes, and my travel size liniment giving me everything I need to change Petit Prince on the go. Best of all, I can still fit my wallet, keys, lip balm, and cell phone in the dry pocket of the Planet Wise Clutch. Because the wet pocket of the clutch has sealed seams and is totally leakproof, I don’t need to worry that a damp cloth wipe or pee soaked cloth diaper is going to soak through onto my wallet or my keychains! I’ve always been hesitant to use PUL lined wet bags to carry my wallet and my keys. With a slightly jagged zipper and a lot of sharp keys, I worry that my keys or wallet will puncture or scrape PUL resulting in a leaky wet bag. Since the smaller zippered pocket on the Planet Wise Clutch is “dry” and not lined with PUL, I don’t worry that tossing my keys in there is going to damage it.
The Planet Wise Clutch makes the perfect carrying bag for my reusable menstrual products too. Long enough for even my longest overnight cloth menstrual pads, I can store clean pads in the “dry” pocket of the clutch, and used pads in the “wet” pocket of the clutch. I never go anywhere without a spare menstrual cup, and that fits easily in the “dry” pocket too. With the snap handle, I can hang the Planet Wise Clutch in my bathroom and use it for clean and used pads. No need to keep two wet bags out since the clutch keeps everything contained in one bag.
Curious about just how much you can fit in the Planet Wise Clutch? How about a complete change of clothes for TWO kids and one spare cloth diaper? It’s possible! The Planet Wise Clutch fits a change of clothes (shorts, t-shirt, underpants) for The Heir and a change of clothes (shorts, t-shirt, cloth diaper) for Petit Prince. I just fold in half then roll each article of clothing and they fit nicely in the clutch. This is perfect for those times we go to Telus Spark (the science centre). They have a great interactive water play table there, and the kids always end up soaked. A change of clothes for both of them in a must when we go there. The Planet Wise Clutch holds everything we need without taking up a ton of space.
Not a reusable menstrual product user (yet) and don’t have little ones? There are still plenty of other ways to use a Planet Wise Clutch. That “wet” pocket is perfect for toiletries when you’re traveling. Fill it with your contact solution, lotions, soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair products, and more! Put any prescriptions or medications in the “dry” pocket, and don’t worry that your wet items will leak and ruin your dry items. The clutch is a great size for a makeup bag too. Keep your cosmetics in the “wet” pocket, and your brushes in the “dry” pocket. Need a first aid kit for your home or your car? The Planet Wise Clutch can hold all the essentials of a first aid kit too! Take it to the pool for your wet swim suit! The possibilities are endless!

I’ve tried using clutches before but I just can’t get used to them at all. So no clutches for me.
Love this! I love that it’s big enough to carry a cloth diaper change. I’d hook it on to my SSC when strolling downtown so we didn’t have to carry a diaper bag.
