Les Produits de MaYa’s Family Size Liniment Upgrade

Les Produits de MaYa‘s liniment is a staple in my house. I first discovered this amazing product over a year ago, and it was easily one of the best products I tried in 2016. What exactly is liniment? In a nutshell, it’s an olive oil and lime water based cleansing milk that’s made primarily for cleaning baby bums. What’s in Les Produits de MaYa’s liniment? The ingredients are simple, natural, and mostly organic. All the varieties are made with certified organic extra virgin first cold pressed olive oil, lime water (which is not citrus fruit water, but rather calcium hydroxide dissolved in water), certified organic carnauba wax, grapefruit seed extract, and vitamin E. The additional ingredients of certified organic coconut oil and certified organic shea butter are added to the coconut oil, shea butter, and coconut oil with shea butter varieties. Although liniment is designed to be an effective yet gentle cleanser for baby’s most sensitive skin in the diaper area, it has so many more uses. I use it every day on Petit Prince for diaper changes, but I use it on myself and The Heir all the time too! Because I use it so often, I go through A LOT of liniment. This is why I’m so thrilled that Les Produits de MaYa has introduced a new larger size bottle of their amazing cleansing liquid. Now available in a 1L/33.8oz size bottle with a built in pump, I don’t have to worry that I’m going to be running out of my precious liniment any time soon. Confession: I actually ran out of liniment for a few days last fall and it was the worst! Thankfully I was able to stock up at my local retailer because once you try liniment, you really just won’t know how you ever got by without it. What could you possibly do with a whole litre of liniment? So many things! Here are a just a few of the ways liniment is used in my house:
- With cloth wipes to clean up during diaper changes
- Apply to baby’s face to heal those pesky teething rashes on the cheeks
- As a moisturizer for dry elbows and knees
- To heal cracked/dry heels in the winter
- Mixed with sea salt for a home-made facial scrub
- Mixed with sugar for a home-made body scrub
- As a makeup remover
- To remove bandaid adhesive
- To remove temporary tattoos
- Add to a warm bath for a moisturizing soak
- Apply to baby’s scalp to eliminate cradle cap
- With a cloth wipe to clean up dirty hands/faces on the go
- With a cloth wipe to clean up crusty noses
- Apply to baby’s nose/upper lip to prevent/heal chapped skin
- Apply to a sunburn to promote healing

I’d really like to try the Coka whipped body butter because it’s certified organic and you can use it on dry rough patches of skin to soften, nourish, & protect your skin. My hands get so dry in the winter and sometimes the tips of my fingers even start cracking open. This sounds like something that would solve that problem!

It sounds amazing and although I’ve considered purchasing it several times, I’ve yet to add it to our cabinet of bathroom products. My biggest hang up is that we use coconut oil the same way in our house and it’s a product we already buy for the kitchen too. I would love to finally try it out and see if the liniment is worth adding to our routine.
